Shopify Store Development for Hosted, Low-Maintenance Selling
A Shopify store set up properly: theme, products, payments, shipping, apps and training, so you can focus on selling.

What Rocket provides
Shopify is a hosted shop platform: the software, security updates and server are looked after by Shopify in return for a monthly subscription. Rocket sets up and customises your store so it is ready to trade, rather than leaving you with an empty dashboard.
We will tell you honestly whether Shopify or a WooCommerce shop on WordPress suits you better.
Our role is to make the decisions that beginners find hard: how to organise collections, which apps are worth paying for and how to keep the storefront quick.
Who it's for
- Sellers who want minimal technical upkeep
- Brands planning to sell on social media and online together
- Startups that want to launch a shop quickly
- Businesses with straightforward catalogues and standard shipping
It also suits brands that want to sell through social channels and need a clean connection between posts, product tags and checkout.
Problems it solves
- Uncertainty about which platform to choose
- Stores that look generic or load slowly because of too many apps
- Confusing product structures and collections
- Payment and shipping settings that do not match South African realities
- No one to train staff on daily store tasks
App creep is the usual Shopify problem. Each app adds a monthly fee and often extra code that slows pages. We install only what has a clear purpose and show you the running cost before you commit.
What's included
- Store set-up, theme selection and branding
- Collections, products, variants and images loaded
- Navigation, policy pages and legal text placeholders
- Payment gateway configuration, including a gateway available in your region
- Shipping rates and zones
- Selected apps for reviews, email capture or inventory, only where useful
- Analytics and pixel set-up
- Staff training
Options
- Theme-based store: a quality theme customised to your brand
- Custom design: extended layouts and bespoke sections
- Migration from another platform
If you need PayFast and full control of hosting, WooCommerce-based e-commerce may be the better fit.
Selling across channels is another consideration. Shopify can connect to social platforms and marketplaces, which suits brands that sell where customers already browse.
What you'll need to supply
- A Shopify account, or we guide you through opening one
- Product data and images
- Brand assets
- Shipping rules and returns policy
- Company registration details for your legal pages
Product photography has a larger effect on Shopify sales than most settings. Consistent, bright images on a plain background make a catalogue look professional, and we can arrange this through commercial photography.
How the process works
- Platform check: confirm Shopify is right for your needs.
- Plan collections, navigation and apps.
- Configure the theme and branding.
- Load products and test payment and shipping.
- Place test orders.
- Launch and train.
We hand over documented logins, a short training session and a checklist of daily, weekly and monthly store tasks, so the shop becomes your team's tool rather than ours.
What affects cost and timing
Shopify charges a monthly subscription, transaction fees and app fees to Shopify and app providers directly. Those are separate from our build fee. Our price depends on product volume, design customisation, migration work and whether custom features are needed.
Check payment availability for your country early, because it affects launch timing.
Allow time for gateway verification and for your product data to be ready. Stores with large variant counts or imported data take longer to check than simple catalogues.
Shop packages and estimate

Frequently asked questions
Is Shopify better than WooCommerce?
Neither is better in every case. Shopify is easier to maintain; WooCommerce offers more control and local payment options. We help you choose.
Do I pay Shopify directly?
Yes. Subscription and app fees go to Shopify and app providers, separately from our build fee.
Can you move my store to Shopify?
Yes. Migration scope depends on your current platform and data quality.
Can I sell in Rand?
Yes, subject to gateway availability. We confirm what is supported during planning.
Will you train my staff?
Yes. Training on orders, products, discounts and reports is part of the handover.
